You're very welcome and thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment on my post, Amy. My goal is to just make sure all of us parents are informed as our kiddos go back to school this year and AI is definitely changing things.

I let my kid use AI when he has questions, including for schoolwork. My son has even used it to better understand math concepts. What made me feel comfortable was seeing how he was using it — he wasn’t asking AI to provide answers; he was asking it to explain the concepts and help him understand the process.

The goal I want for him is to understand that AI is a resource and a tool that can support his learning. I want him to use it to ask questions, explore ideas, and gain a deeper understanding of concepts, while still developing his own critical thinking and problem-solving skills. AI should help him learn, not replace his own effort and thinking.

I love that and I teach my kids the same, AI can be a great learning tool. I do the same with my kids, some post I have written about AI supporting my kids learning are https://aifamilynetwork.substack.com/p/claude-homework-games and https://aifamilynetwork.substack.com/p/notebooklm-study-plan. I thought you might enjoy them.

Mrs. Manisha ... it's crazy finding out schoolboards, IT, teachers, families, and students have No Idea who has access to what, and can't even make the final decisions... Wow!
